Just another photo of my JCW MINI.
This would have to be the best car I’ve owned, and I’ve owned quite a few. No car has evoked total strangers to walk up to me and talk about the car. Mind you , most of them tell the story of how their first car was a MINI and how many people they could fit in there (before the days of seat belts) and how fast the used to go etc etc.
I have to remind them that this is nothing like the old Classic MINIs. (I’ve owned a few of them as well). Yes it has design characteristics brought over from the original like the toggle switches, centre speedo and general shape, but get a Classic MINI and a BMW MINI (Bini) side by side and it is not hard to see they are totally different.
The first thing is the size difference. They didn’t call the Classic Mini a Mini for no reason. They truly are tiny cars. The BMW MINI is much bigger, but in the inside, I think the Classic Mini uses the interior space much better. It can’t hide anything under the back seats in the new one, or chuck stuff on the parcel shelf and more.
